During the COVID-19 crisis, many of our seniors are in lockdown, unable to visit with family and friends.
They crave the simple warmth of connection.
Babies Who Volunteer is proud to offer “Virtual Visits” to help bring our seniors the simple joy of smiling babies during this difficult time!
With an internet connection and a webcam, phone, or tablet our babies (and their caregivers, of course!) can interact with seniors virtually on a private Zoom meeting. Through dance parties, games, and lots of baby talk, our volunteers are bringing light and positivity to vulnerable seniors.
Baby Days – Currently on Hold
NOTE: Our in-person Baby Days visits are currently on hold due to COVID-19. As soon as restrictions are lifted and it is safe to do so, our babies and their caregivers will be back at it!
The joy of snuggling a baby, chatting with a toddler, and watching children play is priceless. That joy is exactly what our babies and their caregivers bring to seniors when they visit. Babies Who Volunteer currently works with over 50 homes in the Ottawa area. We provide each home with a toy bag and play mat for the youngest visitors, so our wonderful volunteers only need to bring themselves. Through games, cuddles, and free play, the babies and seniors develop a heartwarming bond.
